Our Meva Wedding

31st May 2025

After our first date in Spain, and then more than seven years of messing about, we thought it was about flipping time we did this thing....

To our lovely family and friends, old and new, we are so excited that you are able to join us for our wedding in our home village of Mevagissey. For many of you it's a long journey, and we are so grateful that you are making such an effort to be with us on the 31st May.

In true EJ and Sean style there will be a lot about our day that doesn't follow tradition. No formal wedding breakfast, no matching suits, no planned speeches or scheduled first dance, no wedding gift list, but hopefully lots of laughter and an after-party that everyone can enjoy.

With so many children in our lives  we wanted the day to be suitable for all ages, so please bring your little ones to both the church and the party - crying/moaning/dribbling/skidding on your knees is definitely allowed (and the kids too). There will be a late afternoon buffet but we suggest you might want plan for a large breakfast or early lunch to see you through the ceremony. Nobody likes to be hungry when they are having to sit through someone else's wedding vows!

This website will continue to update over the next few weeks as we are sure there is lots we have forgotten, but please read on... and we'll see you very soon!

With Love,

Emma-Jayne & Sean

St Peter's Church, Mevagissey

About the church

The site upon which this little church is built has been holy ground for some 1400 years and it is known that around 550AD Saint Mevan and Saint Issey busied themselves in this neighbourhood organising the early Celtic church.

The graveyard is now closed for burials so you will notice that it is full of wildflowers and perfect for hedgehogs, bugs and bees.

The nearest car park is Willows (5 minute walk), and it is walkable from the centre of the village (8 minutes)

Mevagissey Social Club

About the club

We are so grateful to have such a lovely venue on our doorstep, and metres from the sea.

The atmosphere is relaxed so the kids can have a good run around, the function room has a great dance floor and the bar staff are on hand to keep you topped up!

There will be reception drinks on arrival, then a cash/card bar after this with a large range of drinks available.

Please note, the entrance from the road outside leads straight to the stairs. Look for the signs! The celebrations are upstairs only where we have the first floor for our exclusive use. Downstairs is a members only area.

We will organise an area for pushcairs etc once in the suite.
